Nestled into Nova Scotia’s South Mountain and the Bay of Fundy
lies the fertile Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia’s farming center, and I have 14 days of touring the Annapolis Basin planned, including some family time, some great meals and cocktails on sunset decks, watching the clammers clamber over the low-tide mud, and a slow rising Buck full moon, begging to be howled at.
My first six days in Nova Scotia will be exploring Cape Breton, ending my Highlands adventure at the historic Fortress of Louisburg. Back on the north shore, there will be day trips to Bear River, Annapolis Royal and The French Shore, including the Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Region, and the rugged and beautiful, wind-swept Mavillette Beach Beach Provincial Park; these 28 images will make you want to return to Nova Scotia, which is perhaps nowhere else in the world: far away from the typical tourist routes.
