Crystal Cruises Establishes Agent Advisory Council

Crystal Cruises launched a Crystal Partner Advisory Council during its sales gala here.

The council consists of 13 agents and will be led by Carmen Roig, Crystal’s senior vice president of marketing and sales. Members will regularly provide feedback on agent programs, future newbuilds and the types of luxury experiences their clients want. It will also participate in quarterly meetings to review the cruise line’s strategic plans. The first meeting will be held in Los Angeles this July.

Jon Grutzner takes the reins at Insight Vacations, Luxury Gold

Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, two Travel Corporation brands, selected Jon Grutzner to serve as its USA president. Grutzner steps into the role formerly held by Phil Cappelli, who decided to step down after five years in the post in order to spend more time with his family.

Grutzner is a travel industry veteran with more than 25 years of strategic sales experience in the guided vacations, hotel and cruise sectors. For the past six years, he was director of sales at Azamara Club Cruises. He has also held management roles with Collette Vacations, Reader’s Digest and Carlson Leisure Group.

Booking.com CMO: FareHarbor Was a Smarter Buy Than GetYourGuide 

The tours and activities sector got some Earth-shattering news earlier this month when Booking Holdings announced it was acquiring experiences booking-software provider FareHarbor, likely one of the biggest deals in the space. At Skift Forum Europe in Berlin on April 26, Booking.com CMO Pepijn Rijvers said he’ll start to experiment with FareHarbor in the coming months and will waste no time bringing the company into Booking’s fold.
